Need a theme for a Birthday/Baptism for my future Godson, not the usual stuff like Spiderman,Batman etc. etc. Much more original or less common but still age appropriate. He turns 2 in December.

  1. pirates.

you could get some cut out pirates

    pirate paper plates

and could serve flavoured water as "rum"

cocktail sausages on mini plastic swords

have a pirate ship bouncy castle

    have fun!x

  2. I would suggest something like a Carnival theme. Its inexpensive and really creative. Go to Orientaltrading.com and you can order everything you need from there, everything comes in doezens too.

  3. The new movie "Kung Fu Panda" is a good theme, and he probably has seen it ... or the Disney movie "Cars".  Those are much more age appropriate for a not-yet-2 anyways:) ...  He probably also loves trucks, so you could do a fireman theme, complete with dalmatian

  4. Dinosaurs (did I spell that right?)

  5. Maybe doing a Christmas-style birthday theme and hiring (or having a big guy friend/family member dress up as) a Santa to come and take pictures with the kids. Some people are against combining December birthday's with the whole Christmas thing. My son is 2 and his 3rd birthday is on Dec. 23. I would not be opposed to making a big "Christmasy" birthday party for him once in a while. Just not every year. I think it would be fun to let the kids help make Christmas cookies and decorate them with sprinkles. Maybe even get a small Christmas tree and let them decorate it together with your help using safe, unbreakable ornaments. At the end of the event every attendant could take home some of the cookies as a party favor. Two year olds love to color too. If you bought a bunch of little white shirts and let them "decorate" their own shirt with fabric markers (can buy them at Michael's craft store) to take home, it would be a great piece of memorabilia that the parents won't want to throw away. A book party is good too. Everyone brings a new book for the child instead of random toys that the kid may not even play with. Good luck and what a good god-mother you must be to put so much effort into making this birthday special for him.
