Hello everyone,

I need some help. I need to turn someone in that has a bench warrant and I live in CA but I don't know how to go by doing it. Yeah, you probably think that I am mean for doing this but this person has done nothing but make my life a living h**l. I cant get a restraining order on this person because one she has never harmed me physically and two they don't give restraining orders out based on ill harbor feelings towards people who just cant get along and constantly fight verbally. I need some advise asap....

  1. How do you know that the subject has a BW?  Also, there is a range of behavior between verbal and outright physical that is still chargeable (threatening body language, displaying some kind of weapon).  How is this person so connected to you that her being there is giving you pain?  Is he taking over your apartment?  You can have the cops over telling them she refuses to leave (good cops will then check her for warrants - it's just like that Chris Rock video, it's funny but cops really do warrant checks).

If you've got the name under which she was bench-warranted, contact the court which issued the warrant.  Also, your local police department should have a special office for locating individuals with warrants.

Beware, there's no telling how long your friend will be kept in (or how soon she can get out).

  2. Just call the P.D. or S.O. and they will pick him up if you give them his location. The warrant has to be local or the agency has to be willing to extradite.
