  1. Depends on what kind of vehicle you are putting them in.  I would go with 4- 8 or 10 inch subs or 3 10inch dual 6ohm subs.  You want a smaller speaker so it will keep up with the fast tight bass of heavy metal music.  Being that the speakers are smaller, you don't want to go with anything cheap.  Years ago I ran 3 10inch JL Audio dual VC W6's.  These subs were perfect for any kind of music, fast and responsive for fast tight bass, but could still easily hit the lows.

  2. i think youll need component speakers... these are the future in my eyes lloll...high RMS... and try and get a package... that way everything is suited for them if you know what i mean.... ull get the right amp etc... check this site out it rocks

    www.caraudiosecurity.com

really good site... explains what most of the terms mean incase u dont know lol

    hope it helps :D

  3. speakers play all types of music....they are no speakers that are better for a certain type over another.

as for subs, the box will determine the output of the sub and can be taylored to sound better for certain types of music.

some say that 10's are good for rock and 15's are for whatever....they are wrong....the speaker/sub doesn't know the difference and they are not made for certain types.
