Want to volunteer wildlife conservation?

I would like to volunteer in wildlife conservation and research. I'm looking for places that take volunteers but allow the volunteers to set up their own schedulue. I'll take information on places in and outside of the US

Every state is different of course but in our state, wildlife conservation-related volunteer opportunities can be found by calling:

Fish & Game

City Parks & Rec (especially if you live in a semi rural community)

Bureau of Land Management

The Humane Society ~ they are usually in contact with the organizations that rehabilitate injured animals to be released in the wilds

US Forest Service

State Parks System

Check with the U.S. Forest Service.  Also many nature centers need help at various times for tours and programs or to weed and plant.
