  1. This is tough!  Most of these engines are bought new and installed on boats. So, because they last 10-15 years they remain on the boats, and are sold with the boats.  In a very few cases, like marine police units, they keep "spare" engines or replace their engines every year or so...... but, these engines are run-hard and put away wet.   That's not to say there not out there, just hard to find.  You might find a "rig" boat and motor, cheaper than a new motor alone......Good Luck!!!!!

  2. www.makemyengine.com

  3. try marine engines .com.

  4. Not sure where you are located but in our area, Chesapeake Bay, there are numerous free magazines with ads from dealers with left overs and trade ins plus classified ads.

Visit local sporting goods stores, bait shops, boat dealers for the free magazines.  Also let the boat dealers know you are looking for a motor and they may give you a call if they find one that matches your needs.
