...I've been doing some research on it and it looks as if there are barely any jobs now and I graduate in 2011. Then I seen on a couple of forums people complaining about not finding a job for almost a YEAR! I definatly don't want that!! I really want to go into this field and I am not looking into anything else..trust me I had all options open for me and I want this. Can anyone tell me if this is true from where you live? I live in New Jersey so I can work in either Jersey or New York...I hope anyway!

  1. Hello!  I am an xray tech and in Michigan there are plenty of jobs at hospitals and things like that.  I personally like working in an office instead of a hospital but there are openings for both places.  I know it isnt the states you are looking for but I just wanted to let you know.

  2. I am an x ray tech in the NJ/ NY area. It took me a while to find a job. I only work 30-35 hours a week doing x ray, dexa and ct  because I am going back to school in the fall. Before I got a full time job offer in NY but I couldn't take it. Yeah, it is true it is pretty hard now to find a job but don't give up. If you are persistant, you'll find one. Do any means necessary to do it. I graduated last August so if I found one, you'll find one too. This field is cyclical if you remember.

  3. It really depends on the area you want to live in.  It's a job in the medical field, so there will always be jobs SOMEWHERE.  It's good because there are hospitals everywhere you go so there are jobs for x-ray techs wherever you go.  They might not always have openings right when you want them, but I'm sure you could find a job somewhere.

I'm an x-ray tech, and there is one major school for us in my area, and it's been growing so they have saturated the area with techs, making finding a job here a little difficult.  But students who were willing to look a little farther away all found jobs.
