Wanting to buy a Quaker Parrot?

I just don't know what kind of bird food to buy it. Any suggestions?

Quakers that have been released demolish corn crops.   small hook bill food is sufficient but you can add cracked corn to their food.

I feed mine zupreem food.  Its the colorful stuff that smells like fruit loops.  There are lots of different kinds of foods but I would stick with first what he's already being fed and if you want to switch it later, do so gradually.  The pelleted foods are nutritionally complete and have less waste generated than the seeds....They love to dunk their foods in their water to soften it up so beware you will be changing water lots!  They love lots of treats such as nuts, fruit, chicken, and sweet potatos.  They will eat just about anything.  Good luck.  They can are great birds but make sure that you handle him lots and consistantly because once they reach maturity they can get pretty tempermental.  And make sure he has lots of toys to keep his mind stimulated.  Have fun with your new bird :)

You don't need to buy it any food until you find out what it is currently being fed, then you purchase whatever it has been being fed. Birds are delicate and you can't just change their diet all at once, it must be done gradually.

Hey, check out your local bird sanctuaries they will help you learn more about the Quaker Parrot and they also provide you with the proper food.

Zupreem parrot or cockateil food.  Either one is fine with mine.  Supplement with green veggies, plain popcorn, apples (not the seeds!), and canteloupe.  Let them try healthy stuff.

Also I found a good seed mix with very few sunflower seeds in it.  I give about 1/4 total of seed a week but once you know more what your bird likes you can vary it.  

Qs are prone to fatty liver disease, though.
