Alright I am 19, I have a 2 year old. I have worked at a grocery store for 1 yr. 2 mo.

Today my mom told me she had to go into a town 1.5 hours away to do something in the morning and then she is supposed to be there the next morning so she said we could just get a hotel room and spend the day away from things.

I want to do this and need to call off work but don't know a simple excuse to use.

(Can't be the no babysitter one)

Don't tell me it is irresponsible. Everyone else has called in plenty and it isn't like you get anything special for showing up every stinkin day. I want to take this one day off and I know they will have plenty of people that can help to cover my shift.

  1. Call in sick.  Use a husky voice and be really apologetic.

The next day, say you ate something that didn't agree with you.

  2. Just say you have a family emergency. Thats all they need to know.

  3. Tell them your mother is stuck out of town and you have to go get her.
