My husband and I are wanting to go on a Caribbean cruise for New Years and want to book it in advance. Does anyone have a suggestion for a cruise line they have had good experience with or certain islands they would recommend. Thank you.

  1. stay away from the Bahamas unless you want to go cheap. the Cayman islands are gorgeous. no beggers and it is very clean that is in the western caribbean. in the southern us virgin islands... st thomas is the most amazing island i ever been to good deals on shopping there and you will think you are looking at a post card. i do not know your ages but royal caribbean is a really good cruise line that offers anything from ice skating to rock climbing and shopping. carnival is good more of a 20-30 year old range.both lines also gear toward family so if you want to stay away from kids id consider that. princess is also good and i have noticed more couples that are on the ship are in their 40-50s.

  2. Try these......

  3. Freedom of the Seas, It's a royal caribbean cruise ship. The biggest ship in the world. There is so much to do onboard, I never got bored. The food is DELICIOUS and the shows are AWESOME!

  4. As far as cruise lines that completely depends on your personality.  I hated NCL though and thought they had the worst service in the industry.  Check out www.cruisecritic.com and www.cruisereviews.com.  www.cruisemates.com is also ok.

    Islands that I absolutely loved

    COZUMEL!

    St THOMAS!

    ARUBA!

They were probably my favorite and my must visit again.  I loved Belize City as well and would love to go back there.  I hated Dominica.  It was boring and there was only 1 thing to do on the island so everyone was on the same excursion.  I did not particularly like Key West or San Juan.  I didn't feel like they were as great for just a few hours.  Much better for a visit longer than a cruise ship stops there.  My next cruise is to St Lucia and Antigua and I'm really looking forward to those.

I have heard nothing but bad things about Jamaica (very dangerous) though but I wouldn't knock a cruise off my list b/c it stops in Jamaica.  Same with Grand Cayman.  It was ok but looked just like any city in America, covered with Burger Kings, KFCs, and McDonalds.  I wouldn't knock a cruise off the list b/c it goes there but nor would I but it in the "plus" column.

I'd look over some review sites about people who just got off the ship.  The ones I sent are great and will really help you out over what you want to do.

  5. Try Carnivals Valor ship. It goes to either western or eastern caribbean, though not sure which one will be over new years.

The ship is relativily new. I had the best week on that ship!Happy cruising!

  6. Carnival Cruse line...................Jamaica for sure

  7. Check out http://www.vacationstogo.com

They have deals on all the cruise lines and have a star rating system.  Get the best you can afford!

  8. check out different opinions on cruisecritic.com or cruiseaddict.com to ask any cruise related question from veteran cruisers who love to share.

  9. no matter what stops you make, I suggest Royal Caribbean. They are wonderful! Whatever you do, do not take a Carnival cruise. It is cheaper usually, but it was teh worst cruise I have been on. All my friends that cruise agree with me.
