Wanting to know about health&social care of elderly dont no where 2 start?i have no qulifications in this area

im 26 & wanting to go into health& social care of elderly ,i have some g,c,s,e, s but no certificates in this new area how do i find out more?i live in the bradford,west yorkshire area?please help.thankyou

  1. I think you may need a qualification as a nurse, but am not sure. The best thing would probably be to go to care homes in your area and ask for a meeting with the personnel manager / human resources manager to discuss your plans. Good luck, I think it's great you want to do this!

  2. Have a look on Yell.com for care homes in Bradford and contact them directly by phone to see if they have any Care Assistant vacancies.

    I'd be surprised if something did not come of it as generally you do not need any qualifications - you will usually receive support to complete NVQ's.

    You could also try your local paper and your local government website (job section).
