Wanting to know the names of the two English women who had a comedy show?

Hi, there was two English women who had a great comedy show many years ago. I cannot remember their names so i need your help please. They are very funny, one was a blonde, and the other had brown hair, always had a drink in her hand and a daughter on the show?? They smoke like feigns as well, dying to look some of their shows up so if you can help me out it would be GREAT. Cheers..........

Was that Absolutely Fabulous?  Jennifer Saunders played Edina and Joanna Lumley was Patsy.  Loved that show!!

Dawn French and Jenifer Saunders - ad fab (very funny). They arrived in the 80's all dungarees and very university like. clever ladies who write for other people now.

Dawn French was also in THE VICAR OF DIBLY - my sis finds hilarious,
