Hi everyone!!

Alright well at the moment, I am at a public school in Vancouver, And really I feel I can do better. It's not necissarly I do bad in school, it's that I'm a person who likes to focus and do things on my own, without interuptions.

All my friends think it's a bad idea becuase they think, they won't see me anymore, but I think this would make my marks go up, and prepare me for university

All I need to know is what it's like, was it a bad choice, good choice? My parents don't think it's too good. Since im in art, and they think I'm amazing at it. When I want to focus on math and sciences.

I can't really deal with all the pressure of school and drama, that kids make up, I'd rather focus on school. So any experiences and anything you may know about online schooling would be appriciated,

Thank you!

  1. Me personally, I take online classes b/c I can't stand sitting in school listening to lectures. So online classes work great because I can have the t.v. on, or whatever, and do the classes from the convenience of my own home. The classes are still challenging though b/c everything is packed in into 6 week courses.

  2. Go on home bound from your high school and have the teachers come to you.

  3. It sounds like homeschooling could really work out nicely for you, especially since you need more freetime for other activities.

Here are some of the pros and cons of computer based homeschooling:

As for academics, statistics show homeschoolers out perform public school students.  Here's some info:

    Good luck!

  4. I don't think this will necessarily be a good idea for you, for two reasons.

    1) You already have some trouble focusing, as shown by your spelling.

    2) There will be a temptation to spend much more time on your skiing and less on your studying.

In the long run you will be sacrificing your education for a goal which haha, wow, you neglected to mention the first time around. I think you need the structure of school to help you handle the distractibility problem. You may very well have ADD or be a kinesthetic learner, which will undermine your attempts at self-discipline.

  5. It depends how you want your education. It would be better if you were homeschooled. And even then, you should take online classes only as a last resort because there are better schools out there. Online classes will not have as much homework and it'll be easier to have answers. In real life you need the best possible education in order to succeed and gain wealth. Just a healthy tip.
