Wanting to start sailing

Question

I need advice as to the right boat to buy,I am totally new to this.

I would like a boat(with engine) to just use at weekends for a bit of fishing and cruising around.Nothing too expensive.How much are mooring fees(I live in nw UK,so Preston,Blackpool areas).

I will take courses for navigation etc before I started.

Eventually I would like to sail across to the Isle Of Man but understand that I will need to be more experienced.

Any advice would be greatly recieved,

Might be worth starting with a trailer sailer. They easily looked after and can be towed home everytime you use it if need be, or moored or kept in a marina.
