Wanting to surf in Cocoa Beach?

I just bought a condo with walking distance to the beach. There are tons of surfers there (although none are cute haha!) and they look like they are having so much fun! Needless to say I have always wanted to surf and can anyone recommend places in/by cocoa that are good for beginners. Also how long does it take you to learn and are camps or lessons better. I am a teenager

  1. Just head east and when you hit the water you will be at a good spot for learning.

  2. If you live in walking distance from the beach and surf 3-4 times a week you will get pretty good within 6 months. Off course you won't be punting huge airs and stuff but you will be up and riding some good larger waves.

    Have fun and good luck,

  3. There are several surf schools in Cocoa.  Go to Ron Jons or Cocoa Beach surf company.  Not a huge fan of their shops but they do have schools.

  4. def go to ron jons. the instructers were awsome. I was paddling& catching waves by the end off the day. the price was also at an xtremely considerable price.

but ouch. once you get the hang. you'll see the waves at cocoa puny. but then again, cocoa is # 1 beginner surf school in fl.
