ok so i have a 2006 toyota prius, i have a alpine 450 amp in my car right now, i want to get a bigger amp, when i first put the amp in there, a local audio store that installed it said i had to be carefull because they thought prius's have a smaller 12v battery unlike other normal cars. so i was told to not run my subs for a long time without driving the car (driving car charges battery) otherwise the amp could suck all the power out of my battery meaning i would have tp jump start it. but just through time i think that their guess was wrong and my battery is more then capable of supporting a bigger amp, if anyone

has any info at all that could help i would greatly appreciate it.

also just to clarify i am talking about the regular 12v battery that are in all cars. not the hybrid battery.

  1. yia well 12v battery are all the same power tho some are smaller and bigger u should be alright but u can change the amp put bigger and subs.. u will be fine believe me.. i've put in systems on scooters and bike with no alternator to charge the battery the battery just wont die dat easy unless u cross it yourself

  2. Its always a bad idea to use the stereo in a car that has subs without the car being on.  If you have a 12v battery you should be fine, thats not you need to worry about, you are probably gonna wanna see you are gonna need an alternator upgrade as well.  Main thing you are gonna need is a CAP around 2 Farad.
