Wanting to upgrade sound system in 2007 Ford Focus SE?

I just bought a 2007 Focus SE and I can't find any information on what size the door and rear speakers are, does anyone know?

Also, I've been trying to educate myself on what I would need for a really nice sound system and so far I'm just going crosseyed! I want to replace all 4 speakers with infinity speakers once I can find out what size I need. I also want a sub and need an amp right?

If I have 4 speakers and a sub, how many channels would my amp need? What would be the best way to hook it all up to get the best sound?

  1. infinitys are a nice choice for speakers other than taking out the speaker itself crutchfield.com should tell you what size speakers your car needs

and yea if you pick up a sub you need an amp along with it you could run your speakers off of your deck but if you want the most out of them you should hook them up to an amp that and if you want more of a balance out of your system

because you just want to run one subwoofer you should consider getting a 6channel amp or 5 because it would be more simple , easier, less of a mess, less wires, running 1 amp will create less noise less headache would take up less space and would be more clean

or you could get a 4 ch for your speakers and a mono or 2channel for your subwoofer

  2. they should be 6x8  to put a system in you'll need an amp at least 500 watts 2 channel will be enough... power/ground wire 0-8 gouge depending on the size of the amp you can get them cheap at wal-mart it comes in a kit for around $30  the door speakers wont need an amp since car stereos usually put out enough power to push those kind of speakers.

if you have an aftermarket cd player you'll also need to get rca cable to run from the stereo to the amp.  that sometimes comes in the package with the power wire.

If you have other questions you can email me or contact me thru messenger both are on my profile

  3. Go to www.crutchfield.com they have a system on their where you can enter in your car year make and model and it will give you the info you are looking for.  A little high priced to buy from but great as a research tool
