  1. Stay away & come to Newcastle Upon Tyne Instead

  2. I moved to Newcastle from Liverpool about a year and a half ago.  Initially I made an offer for a house in Hylton Castle.  When I got the survey back, the house it said the house was worth about £5000 less than my offer, plus needed  about £2500 worth of structural repairs.  The vendor wouldn't reduce the price so I pulled out and bought a similarly priced house in Newcastle.  It was the best thing that could have happenned.  Now I live here and know the North East better, not a day goes by when I don't thank the day I never moved to Hylton Castle.

  3. Hi,  i lived in Cheltenham rd, for 2 years, sorry to say its not the best place on earth, i lived in the bunglows at the end, the back lane was always filthy, the school kids use it as a short cut, maybe the lower numbered houses might be ok at the  other end, All off Hylton castle has its share of crime and its vandals, if it were me,  NO WAY,

    Joe the trucker,

  4. I know people who live there. It's not a bad place by any means, not posh but not especially rough either. There are far worse places in Sunderland.

There are far worse places in Newcastle too, so be wary of any Newcastle snobs telling you to move there instead.

  5. Girl, if you can afford the extra pound think about moving to the greater metropolis that is Newcastle. Your query re: Sunderland has had to have been appropriated through the vector of the 'Newcastle' sub-menu context. Now that should start telling you something at least.
