Wants to change or re-solder toilet valve in the basement?

Since its the lowest point in the house its very hard and time taking to dry is there a faster way , other then using bread ?

  1. compression fitting - you won't be able to solder if there is any moisture left in the pipe. You can get them as in-line valves and are quite neat. You do need to be able to wield a couple of spanners so make sure you have enough space. Make sure you don't overtighten.


  2. Purchase a toilet valve with a compression fitting.All you have to do is tighten the nut,no soldering.

  3. If you mean the angle stop (little valve) that controls the flow of water to the toilet, the most common ones are compression - just snug them up.  If they leak, snug a little more.  Be careful not to over-tighten.
