Waqar Younis all praise for Misbah's brigade - Cricket News Update
The former Head Coach of Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 and his men for silencing their critics, with a ten wicket win over World number one team England, in the first of the three-match Test series at Dubai on Thursday.
This was the first time since the infamous 2010 series between the countries that they played against each other. The Men in Green took sweet revenge for the 2010 series, which was marred by the spot-fixing scandal.
"I am really proud of them the way they have responded to all the criticism and skepticism that has come their way following the spot-fixing scandal," said Waqar after Pakistan defeated http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 convincingly inside three days on Thursday.
Waqar, who was the coach of Pakistan team during the disastrous tour of England, said that the spot fixing scandal and several other controversies that hit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 a year ago, made the players stronger and helped them to gel.
"After the spot-fixing scandal and controversies, I thought the players were determined to show everyone what Pakistan cricket is all about,” maintained the former Pakistan skipper. "I felt they realised that the only way to respond to the crisis was to
perform well and let the results speak for themselves.”
“It is not that this team has been doing well in recent months, it has been performing consistently well for the last 18 months," he further added.
Waqar stepped down as head coach in September last year, following the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 on health and personal grounds, said that the team is doing well despite facing adversarial conditions in the last few years and this bodes well.

and decisive Test match.
