Waqar finally admits missing the banned Trio
In another latest development coming from Pakistan cricket, the team’s head coach Waqar Younis has finally admitted that he is missing the banned trio (Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif) in the ongoing series against South
Africa in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033.
Waqar’s boys have already lost the two match T20 series against the Afrikaans and now things are looking bleak in the One-Day series as well, as Pakistan have started off the One-Day series by losing two out of three matches to
the Proteas.
Perhaps, Waqar is still oblivious of the real cause behind Pakistan’s poor show and that is their batting, and since two out of the three banned players happen to be bowlers we can only wonder why Waqar is missing them. If Pakistan
had been able to bat well, even with the current bowling attack that comprises of Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Hafeez, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 and Abdul Razzaq, Pakistan would have been able to give the Proteas a tough time. But unfortunately it is
the batsmen who have let them down in the current series.
Just a couple of days back the Pakistan coach looked quite confident while saying that even if the suspended players don’t come back, his team still had the potential to go into the World Cup and perform to their max, but the ground
reality seems to be the opposite to say the least.
Waqar Younis, the Pakistani coach believes that these are very difficult times for Pakistan cricket, this statement came after Pakistan lost in the first One-Day International against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in Abu Dhabi.
Before the Pakistani team had landed in UAE, the coach, the selectors and the captain had high hopes and were pretty confident that they would give South Africa a befitting beating in the United Arab Emirates.
However, ironically, so far the Asian team has been highly unimpressive and perhaps Waqar is now busy finding excuses for his team’s lack lustre performance, than actually going after the root cause.
Waqar is in dire need for some new ideas to counter the South Africans who seem to be on a rampage of victories right before the World Cup.
This series so far has not been a daunting one for the Proteas, who came in hoping to get stretched to their limits by the Pakistanis, but the men in green seem to be in no mood to bother the South Africans.
Coming back to the suspended players, Waqar said that he sincerely hopes that the players are cleared and are available to play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 since they are vital for the team’s success.
The team is also missing the wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal, who did not make the squad, because he had to undergo an appendicitis operation. Waqar feels that Akmal might have delivered some strength to the batting line-up
along with Younis Khan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 and Umar Akmal.
The Pakistan team’s top performers are either out due to the spot-fixing fiasco or are injured, and some who are still in the team are clearly struggling with their form which leaves the team management with very few options to
fix things in the national team.
Waqar Younis is surely struggling as a coach and if he doesn’t do something to improve the ongoing slump of his team, then his shelf-life might be out and over soon.
