War breaks out in Georgia?!

Okay is it me or should there be a little more comotion about the war that has just broken out between Georgia and Russia??!?!!

There have been 1500 civilian deaths so far..

Has anyone seen the pictures?! There is a bleeding civilian woman lying on the ground crying!?!

All we really know is that Georgia attacked South Osetia, then Russia attacked Georgia. Both sides are saying different things. Georgia claims they have shot down 10 Russian jets while Russia claims it is only 2. The rebels claim 1500 are dead, but no one has confirmed it. Russia claims they were attakced, Georgia claims Russia attacked them.

This conflict is just starting and very little is known by anyone not directly involved. We won't know exactly what is going on until this conflict gets some age on it and we start to sort things out and possibly find inconsistancies.

Personally, I think that Russia was the most aggresive of the two and actually started the war. Although, I am not saying Georgia did not provoke them. I say this because Russia is now placing some blame on the US simply because we are an ally of Georgia and we have done the things more powerful nations often do for their smaller allies (help train the millitary for self-defense and trade). What Georgia does with what we give them is up to them. This blame combined with the recent bomber missions flown near the US and UK, the new ICBM from Russia (supposidly able to defeat out missle defense in Europe according to Moscow) and other actions like claiming the North Pole and creating the FOAB (in response to our MOAB made to intimidate Saddam) all seem like threatening actions to the West on behalf of Russia. Then, when Georia tries to join NATO (something Russia was against), Russia and Georgia go to war.

What  about  the  middle  east,  or  1million  reputed  dead  in  Iraq  and more  deaths  in  Afghanistan?  Let  U.S.  and  U.K.  sort  out  this  mess  they  created.  I  promise  you  i  will  not  be  joining.

Yes, it did. This time  it is Uncle Sam and its Western allies' fault.  Uncle Sam carved Kosovo out from Serbia by neglecting Serbia as  a strong ally of Russia. Meanwhile, during the past years, Uncle Sam has heavily armed Georgi's military forces to counter Russia's influence. So this time, as Georgia started attacking Russian's peace keeping forces in that provice, it is Big Bear Russia's turn to slapping Uncle Sam back by punishing Georgia. It is a fair game and Uncle Sam can do nothing about it because Georgia is next to Iran, which can bring headache to Uncle Sam any time as Russia desires so. The situation is quite obvious. If Uncle Sam and its Western allies push Russia too far, Russia will be forced to team up with China and Iran to counter Western threats. This will be likely to start next WWIII.

Russia is at fault here. Bombing civilians is a war crime. Violating another country's borders without international sanction is illegal. Georgia is not perfect here, but Russia is worse.

Evil Pokemaniac - Have you actually read impartial news? There have been roughly 1000 civilian deaths. Not 2000. Most of these occurred after the Russian invasion. Why is there no evidence of the genocide you claim?

Albert Fish u are only mentally challenged or liar here. From your logic, Russia can nuke and invade USA today, because they commited war crimes in Afganistand and Iraq.

Georgia started etnics cleansing in S.Osetia, genocide against russian and osetian people, just like n***s in WWII did. They attacked civilians at night, olympics peace time, they killed ~2000 civilians and 30 peacekeepers. They used carpet bombing, "Grad" missile systems against capital city of S.Osetia, the only aim of this could be complete annihilation of all living there, because "Grad" leaves only ash there. I wish there'd explode nuke device in middle of your home town, so you can understand what absurd ure talking.
