War of Words between Amir Khan and Kell Brook – Boxing Special
Everyone knows that former IBF and WBA unified champion Amir Khan and Briton fighter Kell Brook share common boxing backgrounds, and that they are eager to face each other in the ring. However, what fans did not know yet was the fact that Brook holds bitterness
for Khan since their schooling days, at least that is how Khan puts it.
Earlier this month, both fighters started off with a war of words on national television, with Khan promising fans to face Brook soon.
“I used to box Kell all around the ring. That's the honest truth, I was at England camp...” said Khan.
Before Khan could add more to it, Brook interrupted saying, “You got schooled.”
Khan immediately defend himself saying, “Come on, I never got schooled. I was training for the Olympic Games, Kell was in the juniors, and I used to school Kell in the ring.”
What irked Brook more was the fact that Khan was consistently calling himself the better man.
“The fans want it, it's a fight the fans want to see. I'm going to move up to 147 very soon, and then I'll be in the mix,” said Khan.
“I still think I'm a league above but if I have to step back a league to knock him out, I might have to do that. I think he's bitter about the treatment he got in sparring,” he added.
Khan promised fans that he would face the winner of Brook vs. Bradley, if the fight happens. According to Khan, Brook declined a match against Bradley and then a fight against Marcos Maidana. Khan then said that he would fight Brook only if the Brit could
defeat Bradley.
Brook immediately countered saying that Khan had previously promised that he would fight him if he could beat Matthew Hatton. However, Khan backed off when Brook defeated Hatton, according to Brook.
By this time, things were pretty much steamy and so Khan put a full stop to it by saying if he ever fight Brook if he would knock him out.
For now, both Briton fighters accepted that they would fight each other.
