War of words, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 bring the heat on Arsene Wenger – La Liga Special
Cesc Fabregas finds himself in one of the biggest transfer sagas of recent times. This is the second successive summer transfer window which has the Gunner in the spotlight and it looks set to continue. The transfer has now propelled into a war of words
between Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, and Barcelona players, who cannot talk to the media without discussing Fabregas.
Everyone in footballing circles is desperate for a conclusion to this long running soap opera that just keeps dragging on. Barcelona want to add the youngster to their roster as they look to build on their title winning team.
Everything on show has been won by the current generation of Catalan players and they want to best their achievements. Manager Pep Guardiola looks at Cesc as the last piece of the puzzle. He wants to set up his legacy and the world cup winning player is
a part of his plans.
Pep and Company are setting up a legacy, but it is a legacy of how to bully a club into selling their best player. Fabregas is the heart of Arsenal FC and without him the team will fall mightily. The injury prone player – or glass man some like to call him
– is statistically better than national teammate, Xavi, with 100 assists and 57 goals to his name in 303 appearances.
La Masia graduate has his heart set at joining his boyhood club. However, he has not set a date for a return. Barcelona have tried all their best to entice him back to Catalunya. From club president Sandro Rosell to every non-interested player, comments
have been taken on their former graduate.
The recent words coming out of mayor of Arenys de Mar, Mr. Estanislau Fors i Garcia, are the most shocking. He attacks the entire English race for the actions of Arsene Wenger, who is unreasonably stubborn in letting go of his best player.
Talking to Spanish sports daily, Sport, Garcia states that he wants the player back straight away. In his attack he says: "If the English are so honourable they should behave properly. The clowning around must stop as it is confusing everyone."
The Catalan district mayor is not the first person to have passed outlandish comments on the transfer saga. Barcelona players, past and present, have joined in this comedy circus. Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-Alves-c9869 and the rest of the
first team squad have come forward and stated their desire in bringing Fabregas back.
Xavi Hernandez has gone the distance in this childish game of statements. He has incurred the wrath of Arsene Wenger who is disappointed by the actions of the acclaimed midfielder. The Spanish international has stated that he did not want to offend the Arsenal
manager and was acting in best interest of Fabregas and Barcelona. What is more interesting is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique coming in and having his say on the matter that does not concern him in any way.
The only reason stopping Cesc from completing the switch remains the difference in the two club’s respective valuation of the player. A difference of five million is hardly beyond Bara’s reach. All the media hype is truly uncalled for. The war of words will
only end with Fabregas joining the Blaugrana ranks. It does not look likely at the moment.
