War of words continues between Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants players – NFL News
We are just a couple of days away from witnessing what seems to be one of the most electrifying encounters of this season.
Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants are going to face each other on Sunday in the week-14 game, and at stake are the National Football Conference East division supremacy and an entry-pass to the postseason.
The heat is certainly on and its intensity has amounted pressure on both the teams’ players, who are engaged in war of words before the game.
It all started with Giants defensive end Justin Tuck, who reportedly called the Cowboys Stadium ‘a dump’.
The remarks infuriated Cowboys’ linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who on Wednesday responded by saying that everyone wants to play for the Cowboys and Tuck is one of those wannabes.
“He says that because maybe he wants to play here,” Ware said. “If I wasn’t playing for the Cowboys I would call it that too, because I want to play for them.”
Cowboys did not stop there. Their cornerback Mike Jenkins targeted Giants running back Brandon Jacobs on the same day calling him ‘a bully’.
As soon as Cowboys vented their frustration out, Giants once again stepped ahead to reciprocate.
At first, Tuck made a mock of Ware’s comments and said that he wants to play for the Giants until his retirement.
“Me wanting to be a Cowboy? Hmm, well I don’t wear Wranglers, I don’t wear cowboy hats or boots or those belts that — What do you call those? — yeah, the buckle belts. I don’t wear none of that. And I don’t need a star on my helmet
to tell me I’m pretty good at what I do. I plan on retiring as a Giant.”
Tuck’s strike was supported by Jacobs who responded to Jenkins saying that those who call him bully are ‘afraid of bullies’.
There are still two days left in the game, and no one can predict what’s in the offing.
At the moment, Cowboys are leading the NFC East division with a complete one-game advantage over Giants. If Giants succeed on Sunday, they will tie for the first place with the Cowboys, but they should not forget that they will
enter the game carrying a four-game losing streak.
