War on terror or war for world-wide rule?

The front page of the newspaper reported George W Bush telling the Chinese president to free illegally detained people and urged him to give them freedom.

Could it get any more ironic?

George W Bush - the person whose government is holding hundreds of prisoners WITHOUT ANY CHARGE in an isolated prison where no one is allowed to go for nearly a decade!

The latest case - Dr Aafia Siddiqui! Only one of the hundreds of Pakistanis reported 'missing'!! Some of them were traced after the deposed Chief Justice took suo moto notices, only a few were reunited with their families.

When will this war against humanity end? When will this war against Muslims culminate?

Make up your mind.  Is it a war against Muslims or humanity?  Muslims aren't human.

Anyway, seriously now.  The people in Guantanamo were captured on the battlefield in Afghanistan and Iraq fighting alongside Al Qaeda, the Taleban, and the Iraqi insurgent groups.  Many of the people China is holding are guilty of nothing more than having a dissenting opinion or following a religion like Falun Gong, which really is a religion of peace.

I think, and hope that it will all be over sometime later this year. Palestine and Israel will come to an amical agreement, and the rest will follow..

We will all live in peace with each other, and behave in the way suggested by all of our "isms". or religions.

If not this year, probably by Spring '09.

Suck it up and just play the game. Losers get tossed in prison and winners get to toss the losers...

Yup! Ironic isn't it - I was wondering the same thing. You missed detention without charge or indefinite detention or secret trials.

Then I don't see any of Muslim countries protesting about Gitmo. . . . or help fight radicalism, which is increasing among Muslim countries according to their own media.

I completely agree the recent fiasco of Dr 'Aafia Siddiqui' arrest is despicable and new low. I honestly think it is a shameful act.

Well I'm sure you understand that these are times of constant threats to the United States' national security. I believe this is reason enough to detain possible threats or dangerous people. Sure, it may seem racist... but the fact is that we need to secure and defend this nation!

Now, obviously you have not given every detail here, but from what you have stated, I see no irony.

Have you also noticed that a lot of idiots are bashing China due to media hype lately as well? Ironic about the fact they are hosting this year's Olympics. Bush ought to look at his own country's policies before he condemns others, he led his country and others into an illegal war and still believes he did the right thing. Do you remember Hurricane Katrina and the devestation that it left behind? A lot of Americans were killed and injured during that disaster, all Bush seemed to care about was blowing up innocent people abroad. In my eyes, he's a terrorist just like Tony Blair is.

It isn't a war against Muslims exactly more like a Puritan-esque witch hunt who thinks that to put down Islam, attack it without thought or provocation will sovle this world's current problems. I think some people ought to get their heads out of cloud cuckoo land. Unless some people realise that the powers that be do not do us any favours but threaten all our international security through their lies, lack of respect towards other nations, beliefs and cultures, total lack of respect towards the wildlife on our earth and a real lack of respect towards the younger generation, mostly the children and teenagers, our future. Then we are in for one nasty haircut. I wish that world peace could be achieved but until we have more respect and less ignorance, this is a long long way off.........sadly.

USA is becoming a fascist dictatorship!! Our capitalist economy is in major debt and businesses can't keep track on who owns who? Entertainment industry is comin out with blockbuster movies every month, there are more and more sequels, prequels and so on, comic book movies are ruling the industry. Healthcare sucks. And i think drug companies are somehow tied with the food industry to keep the population under control. Proof of this also is this years NBA Final Lakers vs. Celtics one of the all time rivalries in sports.  ABC network made hundreds of millions of dollars off of it. Rich are getting richer and the middle class and below are staying stagnant the way our governments wants them to be.
