Waratahs taking their chances in Super Rugby – Super Rugby News

Super Rugby is about to get its final stage done in just a few day’s time and New South Wales is already looking forward to be in the run for finals. They seem to be shifted from their mood, as one of the most anticipated clashes awaits them this Saturday
against Highlanders.
Daniel Halangahu, the Waratahs fly half said, “We're treating this game as everything. If we lose to the Highlanders, that's 2011 done for us - and we know that. We know everything is on the line this week.”
According to the table Waratahs stand against seventh position with 47 points in bag and 8 wins out of 14 clashes. Their rivals stand at eighth position with 45 points in bag and 8 wins out of 14 clashes. This tight gap between both the teams make it a very
interesting clash, as the winning side would be having a shot at top for if they win the next match too.
Reds are topping the table, followed by Stormers with 58 and 57 points respectively. Blues are standing third with Crusaders following them at fourth with 55 and 53 points respectively. The closure of points and last few clashes might turn the top eight
upside down. All depends on what bottom fur in this leading eight do with the big guns.
Waratahs will be hosting Highlanders at the famous Sydney Football Stadium, attracting probably the largest Super Rugby crowd until now. They will be playing Brumbies after that at Olympic Stadium. Even though there were constant setbacks for the club, the
fate of Waratahs to be in the finals is in their own hands.
Chris Hickey, the Waratahs coach is sure that they will win the next two games and will dominate to control their fate.
He said, “If you look at the other games, the Sharks have still got to play the Bulls and the Bulls have got to play the Stormers, so teams are going to lose points in those games. So we still feel if we can win the next two games, we've got a very good
chance of playing in the finals series.”
In the last match, we will be seeing Al Baxter, Luke Burgess the French half back and Kurtley Beale the Australian play maker. Baxter would be retiring after the clash at Sydney Football Stadium. Halangahu admitted the importance of this clash and considered
this game to be a decider for the future unity and oneness of the squad.
Major issue that Highlanders will be facing is the number of players leaving the squad and how to fill the gap with appropriate options. Aftermath of Super rugby for the club will be a great decider for them and will set a new direction for the club.
