  1. I would say that you don't have a chance with out using the terrain and positioning your troops to support each other. I've found that if you do that you have a pretty good chance.

  2. depends on the table length, terrain (cover, concealment), and how your foe plays.  Merely looking at units does not provide an outcome of the battle (with exceptions being anything larger than a baneblade, lol)

  3. You should try and take some chimeras and mount them up with some troops as well as taking a few sentinels to form your army's two wings into mechanised forces. In the centre those 40 cadians and heavy weapons teams you mentioned would form a good solid firebase and just pore firepower into the enemy. Meanwhile drive your two wings into the enemy's flanks. Although your centre will probably remain static once your plan start working don't be afraid to put pressure on the enemy and start advancing forward.

  4. Warhammer is fun, what's your question?

  5. What do you mean by full frontal? You line up all your forces, your friend lines up all his and you shoot it out? Maybe yes, maybe no. I'm going to assume you mean line up and shoot it out- so the first thing I would do is get the Leman Russ behind some cover so it can shoot and possibly get a hull down- this way any penetrating hits will hopefully go down to glance. Since the 'russ is your biggest threat expect it to catch a lot of return fire and use this to your advantage- position your heavy weapon teams with lines of fire backing up the 'russ so if your opponent moves to shoot at it you will get shots back with your heavy teams. Finally place all your other squads as far forward as you can deploy and in cover so they get a cover save- you will need to get as close as you can to shoot the 24" with the las-guns and try to team up 2-3 of your squads on each target. Make use of terrain and using your #'s of units to your advantage and you can probably pull it off.
