Warhammer 40k:Primer..?

Question

Alright I got some Daemon hunters and I want to prime them..

SO should I prime all of them??Whats are the advantages of priming?and how do I prime...I mean I don't want to spray on one side too much....So could anyone give me some hints I never primes before.

Primer is used so that the paint sticks easier to the miniature.

Do not use glossy sprays, but otherwise you can use normal spray paints. White primer allows the painted colors to be show up really bright. Black primer makes more easily for darker miniatures. By leaving thin areas of the black primer showing between different parts of the miniature, you get a similar effect like the black lining in comics that can look really neat. You can use other colors for priming. For example, if you are painting a model that is going to be mostly green, you save a lot of effort by priming it already with green. If you prime with other colors than white, you need to usually paint several layers of other colors the get them to show on top of the primer. This is why people usually prime with white. There are some extra covering paints available these days that cover in one go, even over black. Games Workshop Foundation paints are one such brand.

When priming, do it outside, or in a well ventilated area. You can stick the model on top of a spare spray bottle cap or similar with Blu-Tak, or plasticine and hold on to the cap so your fingers don't get painted and you can easily turn the model when spraying. Spray from about half your arms length in small bursts. You can always spray more, but you can't take paint away when spraying.

Spray everything you have with white or black. Primer just gives everything an easy color to paint over. Most minis I paint are silver or gray. I like to prime with black so the paint I put over that is a little darker if I use light coats. Check this site out www.coolominiornot.com
