Warner reckons Tendulkar as only threat in the Indian camp - Cricket News Update
The belligerent opening batsman of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301, on Wednesday described Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar as the only in-form batsman in the star studded Indian line up that is currently struggling against the
Aussies in the ongoing four-match Test series down under.
"There might be a lot of people in their shed wondering how they're going to score runs," said the 25-year-old swashbuckling Australian opener who struck a match-winning century at Perth last week to put the hosts on course to an innings and 37 runs series
clinching victory.
"In my mind there is probably only one player (in form) and that's http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 who looks like he's using a sight screen when he comes out to bat,” Warner added further.
Sachin Tendulkar, the batting prodigy of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, is the only player in the Indian camp who has so far shown some resistance against the Australian pace attack. He has scored a couple of half centuries as well during the series; however, his elusive hundredth
international ton is yet to come.
The formidable Indian line up, laced with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772, looked toothless against the new look pace attack of Australia, as the tourists trail the four-match series 0-3. And, the situation seems to be getting worst with each passing
day.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men lost the series opener at Melbourne by 122 runs before facing an innings and 68-run crushing in the second Test at Sydney. The third Test of the series played at Perth saw India falling down by an innings and 37 runs and it was
India’s eighth successive Test defeat abroad.
After a 4-0 crushing at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 six months ago, another 4-0 drubbing is on cards for the former world number one Test side, and Warner said that his side would aim to make it a second Test series whitewash in a row for the Indians by winning
the final Test of the series at Adelaide.
"As http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 said the other day after the game (in Perth), celebrate your win but at the end of the day we want to try and beat the second team in the world four-nil," Warner said.
The fourth and final Test kicks off at Adelaide Oval on January 24, 2012.
