  1. Regarding whether it is a common surname, in England there are between 230 and 250 listed. So it is a very un-common surname, in England at least.

    (For England read Britain.)

    NOTE :-

Steve Hissem on his web site notes that

Warnett is Warinot (a diminutive in 'ot' of Warin) the English dress of the same name.

    ALSO :-

('Robert Warinot,' in the Hundred Rolls, and 'William Warinot' in the Placita de Quo Warranto, reveal the origin of our 'Warnetts").

  2. I cant find anything about the surname at all, I haven't heard of it before either. I searched on www.ancestry.com and this other site,

    but I found nothing, sorry.

  3. It is unknown in China. When you ask about surnames you should say in what country.

In the USA there are just 38 Warnetts on the Social Security Death Index that I use. (By contrast, the same SSDI has 800,000+ Smiths and 5,315 Packs.) So no, it is not common in the USA.

    The Mormons,

have 145 entries, most (not all) from the UK, USA, Colonial India and Australia. There a German, too. So, it is not unknown but it is not common. It probably comes from England. Here is a sampling of the UK entries:
