Date and time of reception?

Name and location of reception?

Time of arrival of the newlywed couple?

You'd like me dressed how? (I HAVE a Tux if required)

At what time do you expect the guests to be seated before the entrance of the bridal party?

For the wedding traditions:

Do you wish to have formal introductions of the Wedding Party?

In what order?

List names of those in wedding party to be introduced, please, (Including YOURSELVES, please!) and help with any unusual pronunciations of names :

Are the bridal couple to be announced as Mr. & Mrs. James Smith, e.g. or Mr. James Smith and Mrs. Jane Smith (OR a hyphenated bride name)? OTHER?

In what order will following take place? (I've pre-set these in the most common order, but please have these occur in the order you wish)...

Toasts / Speeches

Dinner

Cake cutting

Bride & Groom's 1st dance (Name of song(s)/artist(s) for THIS dance_______ )

Father of Bride / Bride dance (Name of song, etc. ___)

Mother of Groom / Groom dance (Name of song, etc. ____ )

"Dollar Dance(s)" (Name of song(s) ____ )

Garter toss

Bouquet toss

Are there OTHER formalities or traditions you'd like added?

Will we pause before dinner to say Grace?

Who will do so?

Do you have preferred genres of music? (Classic rock, new rock, new country, older country, etc. etc.)

Any strong DISLIKES, musically ?

*Note : Often I'm asked to play Hip-Hop or Rap that I KNOW to have ***strong adult language.***

Do NOT play that kind of thing. YES or NO, please

You MAY, but seek permission first.

While my catalog of songs is great (including all the "standard" dance songs like "Electric Slide, Cha-Cha Slide, Baby Got Back - you get the idea...)

Are there any songs you want to be SURE I have ("I can't BELIEVE he didn't have **BLANK** in his library!!!") ?____________________

***Have I made you aware that you and your guests will be welcome to bring your OWN CDs ?***

Would you like to create a play list that includes songs you feel are special to you (I'll compile UP TO 2 discs - roughly 30 songs - if you wish) ?

Is there anything else I might do to help make your reception a success?

May I place a tip jar?

I will not mention its presence.

List any OTHER details I may have overlooked, please?

I have a complete set of back-up equipment to insure against any possible failure, save for a power outage.

Have I made you aware? The $275.00 fee is BASED on 4+ hours playing time BUT if the party continues beyond that I will CONTINUE to play until (x x) P.M.

ANY and ALL special services from above (within reason) ARE included in my fee, so feel welcome to request what you'd like!!!

  1. That's great. The only part that I had to read over and over a few times because it didn't make sense to me was this part..

*Note : Often I'm asked to play Hip-Hop or Rap that I KNOW to have ***strong adult language.***

This may be what you meant to say, I don't know, but for me I wouldn't want bad language in my wedding songs, but the way it is stated it sounds... like you play songs with adult language in it because you are often asked to. I thought it was supposed to say you are often asked not to play those songs, but again I don't know :P lol. Just observing. Anyways that sounds great. :]

  2. Do you provide just DJ services, or are all the weddings you do going to be with you as MC? If you have both options then include that. (Although this looks like it's mostly MC questions, so I guess this would specifically be for couples that have requested you MC?)

Do you have a license to play music that the guests have just downloaded (as opposed to their own CD's)? If not, then specify that it has to be legally purchased music there, or you'll likely have upset guests. (I don't know how the licensing works completely)

Rather than list ways for you to introduce the couple just ask them how they'd like to be introduced.

I like that you're asking about attire and tip jar, and that you let them have a blacklist of songs or genres, although the wording seems odd (but that might be due to the formatting here).

  3. Maybe ask about when you have to be there to set up, and if you are required for cocktails or dinner music (some people hire a live piano player/jazz trio for that time).
