  1. Because the "new wave" painters do not seal the tops and bottoms of the doors like they are supposed to..We always did..and on our government jobs they had little mirrors on an antenna like tool theat they could place under the doors to check them to make sure they were... Now days painters, paint the doors and run..the bottoms and tops are unsealed raw wood..they absorb the moisture and warp like this....This paragraph was taken from the link below..

If the door rubs or sticks because the frame has gone out of square (perhaps a wall has shifted or a floor has sagged), or the door has swelled due to high humidity, take down the door and plane or sand the edge that sticks. Be sure to repaint or varnish every raw-wood edge, including the top and bottom, to seal it so the door won’t absorb moisture and swell again.

I just noticed a couple of other answers..do not try to adjust, or shim, or tighten screws only to strip them out..Let the air get dryer and they correct themself..do not go seal the tops or bottoms untill they dry first...

  2. it's swelling most likely--  the warmer temperature now has caused the doors to swell and during the winter when they were installed, the gaps were set to tight--  ( I'm assuming the doors are wood and not an MDF product)--  the doors are hitting the jamb, not the casing-  a quick fix depending on how far they are hitting is replacing 1 s***w in each hinge with a much longer one-  they usually just use a 1" s***w on the hinges-so if you sink a 2.5 or 3" s***w, you'll hopefully hit the wall stud and pull the door over slightly-- you can also try to remove the casing on the latch side and remove a few shims and lossen it up a bit, but thats more work

  3. I hope you either primed and painted the doors and jambs, or you stained and sealed them. If not - your doors and frames have wicked up humidity from the hot summer days. If you run your a/c you just about have to keep running it all summer.

Some people are tempted to open their windows if it is to cool down in the evening hours - that just lets the humidity back into the house.

If your doors and jambs were painted or stained/sealed - check to see if they painted the tops and bottoms of the doors-if not you need to do that.

Yes doors can warp, however for all of them to do that is uncommon.

They could have been installed incorrectly. Check all the info above-let me know if I helped you any.

    Good Luck

  4. when there is more humidity in the air wood absorbs moisture and swells if you take some moisture out of the air the doors will close correctly or when the weather gets cooler
