Warrants and getting another License?

Question

If i have a warrant out for my arrest and i go to the DPS to get another license, will they arrest me? ( Question is for a friend with no computer.) Oh yes, we live in Texas.

It's hard to say. They may only make him aware of the issue to get it resolved.

I personally witnessed a person being arrested in Arkansas while attempting to get her license renewed. In Texas the DPS office is going to have troopers onsite because that's who does the road tests. The trooper will probably be notified of the warrants.

your driver's license? The DMV cannot arrest you, they aren't law enforcement. However you will be updating your info that law enforcement has access to, so depending on the warrant, you are that much closer to being caught.

if they have a warrant what do they need with a license. They should be trying to straighten out the warrant issue and then get a license. I guess the answer is yes.
