How is limited differ from full warranty when purchasing consumer electronics?

  1. A "full warranty" meets all the federal requirements of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.  A limited warrantly does not meet one or more of the requirements of the Act.  The short version would be that a full warranty:

    1.  is unlimited in length

    2.  is available to any owner of the product (not just the original purchaser).

    3. is provided at no cost

    4. allows for replacement or full refund if product is deemed unrepairable

    5. requires no action from the consumer other than submitting a request for repair, replacement, or refund.

    Any warranty that does not completely meet all five of those requirements is considered a "limited warranty".
