things for the club in the near future and I'm looking forward to getting over there and being part of that.”
Warrington Wolves head coach, Tony Smith, has welcomed the signing of the Australian international second row forward. He said, “He's a high-quality international player who fits our needs and will fit into our structures and our team extremely well.” Smith
further added, “He (Waterhouse) is a big man who likes to offload the ball and is a highly experienced rugby league player who has gained a lot of experience at the highest level.”
The 30-year-old made his international debut for the Kangaroos in 2002 and his last impressive performance at the international level came during the 2009 Tri Nations series.
Waterhouse has praised the Wolves’ management and facilities at Halliwell Jones Stadium. He said, “The coach and management have outlined a fantastic vision for their future and as such it was the only club I wanted to join in the UK Super League.”
In other news, Wolves also confirmed on Wednesday that their star player Matt King has parted ways with the team. Providing the details, Wolves’ said that King had cited personal reasons to return to Australia after spending four years at the club.
King has termed the time spent at the club as the memorable period of his life. He said, “Without a doubt the option to stay here in England was quite an attractive one, Warrington is a club that at the moment is close to being, if not the best rugby league
club in the country.”
