Warriors overpower Victoria by 28 runs
The Warriors beat Victoria in the sixth game of the Champions League T20, 2010 that was played at the St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Victoria-c859, who had come into the tournament as favourites, were no match for a side which exhibited a clinical display in all three departments of the game and crushed them by 28 runs.
The Warriors won the toss and decided to bat first given that the track has shown tendency to assist the bowlers in the second innings. The pair had added 81 and looked like propelling the total to 180. Jacobs scored 59 off 39 balls.
The rest of the Warriors could not match up to the batting of their skipper, and apart from Mark Boucher’s 31, none crossed 20. The Warriors could add only 77 in the last 63 balls.
However, chasing even 159 under lights was going to be a difficult proposition. Not too many would have guessed that it would go on to become a one-sided encounter.
