Warwickshire edge closer to victory against Somerset: County Championship Division One – 3rd Day’s Recap

Somerset lead by just five runs and have one wicket remaining in their second innings. the final day.
The third day’s play was started by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Christopher-Liam-Metters-c50912. The team had already gained a solid lead of above 100 and continued to score 448 runs before being dismissed.
Woakes got out cheaply for eight, but his partner remained unbeaten on 13 until the end of the innings. Irish pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WB-Rankin-c2785 scored 25 quick runs for his side, guiding them closer to 450.

The pitch remained good for the batsmen, but the visitors were unable to make most of the conditions and continued to struggle in the match. They lost nine wickets and collected only 191 runs until close of play.

Hildreth took his time to settle down, but was unable to capitalise on the start he got to his innings and was dismissed for 15. This saw a collapse for the Somerset team and wickets started to fall at regular intervals.
The Trescothick-led side lost seven wickets in a span of just 60 runs and completely lost control of the game. Compton was unbeaten on 81 until http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Close-c51347 of play and he was joined by Willoughby, who is yet to open his account.
Metters took three wickets in the innings and will be looking to add one more to his tally to finish things off on the final day’s play.
