DL Maddy then came in the middle and provided his skipper the much expected support as the duo took the score to 40 runs before Chopra became the third wicket to fall from his side after bolstering 25 runs off 23 deliveries.
It was then upon Maddy and LJ Evans to take full responsibility as they needed to stay on the wicket for as long as possible in order to avoid defeat.
The situation became intense when with 85 runs on the board; Maddy was caught by de Lange off the bowling of Vaas after hammering a knock of 24 runs.
Evans then took charge and played a match winning knock of 68 runs as he stayed unbeaten alongside Woakes, who clobbered 23 runs to help the side reach the target in 19 overs for the loss of four wickets.
