Was Balto really part wolf?

According to the movie, Balto was half wolf but i can't find anything that confirms this.

The real life Balto wasn't actually part wolf at all. He was a normal Siberian husky. In the animated movie they made him part wolf to make the story more interesting (and hey, it spawned a sequel, so it must've worked).

Looks like Balto was a Siberian Husky...just a dog.  :)
