It seemed longer to me and they said that it was the longest running Derby margin in 60 years!

  1. Yes it along way

But What matter's most is the ""Time "'

A horse may win by 12 but if it was a slow race that does not say much !

  2. Yes, it was. Pay attention to this year's race, because one of the horses running in it ( at least the last time I heard about it) is trained by Michael Matz, Barbaro's trainer. Perhaps he will have the same luck that Barbaro did. You never know.

  3. Yeah it was long, but I prefer to go based on time, don't get me wrong I liked the other horses in the derby but it is always possible a horse won by that much because the other horses were not having a good day.

Barbaro took a nice win, he was a good horse.

  4. after 3 or 4 lengths,it gets harder to tell with the naked eye just how far the gap is (1 length is a length of hose).its officially 0.2 secs per length on the flat,0.25 for jumps, although many speed ratings compilers go for 6 lengths per second (0.17)on the flat and 5 per second (0.2)over jumps.if you can see a re-run of his win ,try and time it to see if it adds up.

at first attempt using youtube and online stopwatch i got it at 1.328 secs or 6.64lengths.
