It totally let me down. Dragged on and on during the pregnancy/torture parts. Made readers angry and bitter (stupid fricking bella) i actually started skipping pages, that is, flipping pages without reading them, something i thought i would never do to someone like Steph Meyer.

Your thoughts are welcomed.

  1. I just asked this question too. I wish I would have seen this first. I totally agree with you. It made me mad.

  2. Where were you? Everyone has been hating on Breaking Dawn and with good reason. Stephenie broke her own rules, contradicted herself numerous times telling us that vampires couldn't reproduce only to tell us that she had Nessie planned since the beginning?!!

Now, everyone is complaining about how Stephenie was rushing it and all. After finding out it'd been planned this way since the beginning I'm really starting to wonder what was going through her head when she wrote this. I mean, did she seriously think her fans would forget what she said? They practically worsipped her. Did she really think they'd like it even after denying Edward being able to procreate a myriad of times?

Honestly. She completely had a disregard for her fans which is what is the saddest of all. I feel bad for her and her fans.

And what I don't get is why she was going on and on about the sacrifices Bella would have to make once she became immortal. Um, sacrifices? You gave her EVERYTHING without consequence!!! That infuriates me.

Edit: I just have to add that if she were asked for vampires in general--in her books--and the answer was no. Why wouldn't she explain that female vampires couldn't reproduce? That doesn't even make sense in the first place, but that's not the point. It's up to the author to make something as clear as possible once the opportunity is presented and not to cloud the reader's head by building up all of these rules you'd break later on. And if she didn't know the answer herself because she'd simply not thought about it, the reader would be better off than they are now knowing she contradicted herself. She could've simply said she hadn't thought about it. An author, after all, doesn't know their characters inside and out most of the time. Very few do.

That is the whole point. She disappointed her fans.

  3. yesh. s meyer obviously either lost her mind, or was on drugs the whole time she wrote the book.

  4. Personally, it left me satisfied. Everyone was happy and that's something I wanted. It seemed to be too fast paced and a little under-detailed in places, also some of the characters personalities didn't shine through as they usually do but over-all I was satisfied!

For some of you Stephenie Meyer has had multiple interviews in which she explains, when she was asked the reproduction question she simply said no because in all truth vampires cannot reproduce, but no one ever asked for specifics, can female vampires reproduce? then the answer is no, there bodies cannot make the necessary changes. Can male vampires reproduce with a human female? YES!

  5. Yes, it was a HUGE disappointment!

I was so eager to read it and towards the middle I actually started laughing at myself because I thought I've been stupid the whole time. Stupid -- because I was expecting so much more and was left extremely positive after ECLIPSE.

=> There should have been a real love scene. Just one. It's a love story after all. I kind of missed the essence...

=> An absurd mess with the pregnancy thing and everything that followed it.

    => Really boring at moments!

God, I wish I never read it!

I want to apologize to S.Meyer but I was disappointed. Eclipse was wonderful though.

  6. i loved it is the way i wanted it to end

  7. it was a disappointment but i still LOVE it.

I mean when I read it first it's like "is that it?"

and after reading it for about 10 times,, I was like "ok. that was it".

i'm still thankful because Bella ended up with Edward and not with Jacob. and how her wish of becoming a vampire and staying in the arms of Edward forever come true.

it was not what i expected but it was still amazing. (*winks)

I super love the last line.. it was just so sweet.

    (laughs)

    =D

  8. It was so long and drawn out for a book that really went nowhere. I loved the other three books though.

  9. i one hundred percent completely disagree, i loved what happened. though i would have like more action at the end i thought it was very very well done. but agree to disagree eh?

  10. same here. the 1st half was okay but the last 100 pages or so i couldnt even read. it was so boring all they talk about is the vulturi and its all talk no action boring

  11. I did not even finish reading the book and I am so dissapointed with it right now. I loved jacobs POV but after that it disgusted me! How could stephenie let jacob imprint on bellas daughter!?!? WTF?!?! I hate the book so much right now. If only bella ended up with jacob then none of this c**p would not have happened. and bella geting pregnant. And i hate bella so much for getting mad at jacob cause he imprinted on nessie. Like its his fault?!?! its a huge let down. Abd plus bella is getting so annoying now since she turned into a vampire. And all of the sudden she hates jacob. Pisses me off. I dont think i want to finish the rest.

  12. I actually really liked it. It was creepy yet kept my attention. overall, it was my favorite book of the series!

  13. I disagree

  14. I admit I was overwhelmed at times and had to put it down and just decompress, but I still read in within 24 hours of purchasing it and found it really enjoyable. I liked the third "book" within Breaking Dawn better than the first two, but I thought over all it was a great finale to the series. I'm disappoointed with all the talk about it being a let down. I think anyone who feels that way hyped it upa nd had their own ideas about what should happen instead of enjoying where the author and characters went. Oh well.

  15. big disappointment.  if vampires can't reproduce then why did bella  get pregnant and then tortured for 2 months when she had nessie?  it was not cool, man.

  16. i loved it
