  1. The simple answer is no. He was an alright martial artist but what he did was surrounded himself with the best martial artists of that time and learn little things from each one of them and put them into his system. He never won any major fights or tournaments. He was never a master of wing chun, he never advanced that far in that system. I could make up my own system tomorrow but that doesn't mean that I'm any good, so just because he made his own style doesn't mean he was the best.

  2. bruce lee is good martial artist but not the best even during his days...his body was not really exellent but only ripped...he is consider underweight or could be call skinny but strong for his weight category. But his theory in fighting is very good...

  3. Here are a few facts about Bruce Lee, that are easily verifiable, and well-documented (yet which most of the afficionados somehow forget to mention):

    Was Bruce Lee a champion?

Yes he was: he was the Hong Kong chacha champion (yes chacha, the dance, not some obscure deadly martial art).

Did Bruce Lee have an excellent physique?

No, he was born with an undescended t******e.

Was Bruce Lee's physique the result of his phenomenal training regime?

Sure... that, and the steroids that were found in his body during his autopsy...

    Was he an excellent fighter?

He was excellent compared to the average Joe, yes. Some well-respected martial artists (like Dan Inosanto) even think he was pretty good for his times!

Would he have beaten the current UFC/ mma practitioners?

I'm afraid even Inosanto doesn't believe Lee would have had much of a chance in the cage... at least not with the training he was doing at the time.

    Was he influential?

Yes! But largely due to the success of his movies.

  4. Bruce lee was an excellent martial artist full stop.

He believed in physical conditioning to the extreme and was incredabley faster than anyone at the time as far as I know, and his attitude to training, advancement and open mindedness to use what ever worked to succeed in a fight was ground breaking and led the foundations for the current mma and ufc whether people choose to admit it or not ,don't forget we are talking about someone who trained in the 1960's until his death in 1973 so some credit is due some 35yrs on  as training has improved and evolved so it's unfair to compare him against anyone in the modern era.

    Best wishes :)***

  5. OMG yes he was a good martial artist and i cant believe watts commin out of the mouths of these people who are talking bad about him. Guys If you think Bruce Lee is bad than u have no idea. Everyone knows jackie chan is really good especially at kung fu. Jackie chan witnessed bruce lee back in the day making movies and said you can barely see his kicks and chuck norris was asked in an interview who would win in a deathmatch and chuck norris said bruce lee ofcoarse he's the best. He was a good fighter standing and ground fighting. He knew how to hit. He was 130 pounds of practically pure muscle. He wasnt a chump like how many people think. He was the real deal.

  6. i guess so. he work out hard to have the body he has.

  7. Bruce Lee was one of the greatest martial artists who ever lived. He created his own style of martial arts -- "Jeet Kune Do - The Way of the Intercepting Fist", because he believed that previous forms of martial arts were too "fixed" and stylised. Jeet Kune Do was created as a "style without style".

Bruce Lee also worked out for HOURS each day, cycling, weight-lifting, and training.

So he was indeed one the great martial artists, with an excellent body.

  8. Bruce Lee mastered wing chun, kung fu, and even created his own martial art know as jeet kune do, he was and still is the greatest and most inovative thing to hit the mma world, even after more than 30 years after his death his fighting styles and achievements still soar above all. In short yes Bruce Lee was a great martial artist, and an incredable body.

  9. Bruce Lee was an actor ! End of story. Did you see the " Martial arts" during the Olympics? Funniest thing Ive seen in years ! What a bunch of jokers !

  10. Obviously you have never seen a Bruce Lee movie.

And Bruce Lee was not just a man with 'an excellent body' he is a martial art's legend.

Why in the world would you even ask such a question?

And if you are absolutely clueless, then just do some research.

  11. bruce lee knew wing chun, he was considered a master in the style.

much of his theory for jeet kune do came from yip man, bruce lees wing chun sifu.
