  1. Pride's production was ridiculously good.  You would get so pumped up for fighters you've never even heard of.  Not to mention, it usually took place in an arena.

I could care less if EliteXC does it, but if UFC puts as much effort into production, I would pay just to support it.

Not that they aren't any good, but Pride just seemed so dramatic.  Or, maybe, it's because they used a traditional ring, so it was reminiscent of boxing's glory days.

I'm going to go watch some dvds now.

  2. No 10 minute round, yellow cards, or ring.  they were closer to UFC.  The ring entrances were a reminder of Pride.  The pride girls would have been nice.

  3. no, they were attempting to bring mma to more of a main stream audience by putting it on prime time cable, I personallyy thought it sucked and Kimbo should have lost the fight alot earlier and the stoppage was bull, elite xc is trying to protect kimbo cuz he is the poster boy.

sorry to rant, but i wuld say the entrances are the only thing that resemble pride, but now pride has its new promotion called DREAM on hdnet fights, its sick Aoki, Gil Melendez, and Fedor, have all fought there, and frank trigg commentates

  4. not even close

pride will go down in history for how they choreographed their shows from start to finish. It was almost like it was out of a movie/video game or something.

plus like the other poster said, pride had 10 min rd, yellow cards, ring, grand prix..etc,etc.
