i agree, it was probably a cup.

but i've heard alot of wrestlers wear thongs, because of panty lines in their tight ring attire maybe ? who knows, but yes i noticed it on batista too.

Did you not watch Hogan Knows Best when they showed that he wears thongs underneath his tights?  You can't really wear boxers under those things they're like skin tight.
