  1. Yep he was the best, better than over rated Pringle thats for sure.


  2. Always hard to compare players from different eras, but yes, I think George Reed is still the best ever because he dominated for so long.

    If any of the current guys like Roberts, Smith, Reynolds, or Lumsden can keep going for the long haul, then it might change.

  3. There have been some really good fullbacks, over the years, Normie Kwong, Cookie Gilchrist, Pringle, and a lot of others, but George Reed is probably one of if not the best.

I'm not old enough to have seen him play, but based on his numbers, he's definitely right up there.  I think that Mike Pringle definitely deserves mention, too.  He tied Reed's record for career touchdowns, (which was later surpassed by Milt Stegall) and is the only player to rush for 2,000 yards in a CFL season.  Pringle is definitely the best running back I've seen, and would get my vote, because, as I said, I'm not old enough to have seen Reed play.
