  1. that depends on your standards for a great man. I think, next to my own father, he was on of the greatest men ever.

He agreed to lead the continental army against a far superior foe knowing full well if he lost he would be killed for his crime of treason.

He never accepted a single penny of pay for his 8 years of service (with no vacation) other than his expenses.

More incredibly was that when the war was over he resigned and went home. At a time when military leaders ruled the world this one walked about from that power. Yes he became president but because it was given to him he did not take it.

I think he must have been an amazing man.  If you really want to know more History channel has a series called "The Revolution" it is wonderful.

  2. He never gave up and beat one of the biggest armies in the world with a bunch of farmers with guns. Yes he was a very great man.

  3. In my opinion, Americas finest President who must be shaking his head, "No" when he sees George Bush.

  4. Yes, he is consistently ranked in the top 4 in rankigs of America's best presidents by people who know their stuff and not just the "man on the street."  His main achievement was presiding over the government of a country that had no precedents to look to.  He couldn't say "I'll do like _____" the way subsequent Presidents could
