Question:

Was Hawthorne's Sam Mitchell's dive against Port the best ever?

He was hardly touched by Shaun Burgoyne but feigned unconsciounesss. Port coach Choco Williams said that Hawks medical staff over-reacted & called for the stretcher. Once on the ground the stretcher has to be used & the player not allowed back on for 20 minutes.

Mitchell, of course, went back on & got awarded votes for various media competitions. Williams said the episode was up there with the "most bizzare"things he'd ever seen.

Burgoyne copped three weeks for this con. Mitchell must be the most embarrassed player in the AFL at the moment!

  1. no

i dont think you have any idea what your talking about

  2. Yes. It was one of the best dives ever.

But Mitchell shot himself in the foot. When he did that dying swan act & they brought the stretcher out he HAD to go off on the stretcher & HAD to stay off for 20 minutes.

I bet his coach was spitting chips. He wont do the same again.

  3. No one would feign unconsciousmess and be taken off the ground. Their coach would be ropable for putting the side one man down.

    Typical port adelaide statement.

You like to dish it out but scream when someone hits you.

Choco just proved what a big wanker he is.

  4. It looked like a dive to me.

The rules are that if a stretcher is brought onto the ground the player must be taken off by the stretcher & must stay off for a minimum of 20 minutes. The rule was brought in as teams were doing it to waste time for their advantage.

When Mitchell opened his eyes he had no option but to go off on the stretcher. He learnt a costly lesson.

Plus on top of that I didn't think Burgoyne should have been suspended.

  5. Sorry to answer your question with a question, but I thought that if a player came off on a stretcher then that was it for their game that day? Is or was this ever true and have the rules been changed recently?

  6. i hate the power and the hawks but i am glad shaun bergoune is out for 3 weeks yay.

  7. Yep. One of the best ever.

I'm wondering if he's auditioning for the high or the 5 metre in the Bejing Olympics.

  8. i agree, sam mitchell did take a dive that gave Burgoyne 3 weeks suspension, how can u be knocked out then come back so quickly...

  9. No; I've seen some better dives eg Grasso (Italy) in the dying seconds of the World Cup 2nd round V Aust. Then there was Jacko, Dermott could claim a few beauties. Didak is probably the best diver at the moment .

  10. No

  11. dive? mate if u 'dive' and u go of on a stretcher ur not allowed to come back on for 20mins so i duno why he would want that mate

  12. no, he didn't dive ... but i thought they were both going for the ball, don't think he should have been suspended
