Was Heath Ledger alive for the end of the movie "The Dark Knight"?

i thought he was an amazing actor and was just wondering if he finished the movie? if he didn't who took over?

Of course he was alive until the end of the role. He just wasnt alive to promote it and to go to the Premiere, because well, Movies are shot MONTHS before they come to theaters. So yes he was alive.

He did finish The Dark Night. He just didn't finish this other movie he was doing after the Dark Night. I wish he did he was a fabulous actor

Yeah,Heath finished it. He was filming Terry Gilliam's "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus" at the time of his death. Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell stepped in to complete Heath's role, playing different versions of his character "Tim."
