I was wondering that since Hitler targeted Religious groups and Political groups during WWII, I never heard of any document or information of Hitler killing other races than Europeans. I know that Hitler talked about the Master race and everything, but it doesn't make sense if he was a racist if he didn't target other races than European Jews and Political organization. It just got me to wondering sometimes. I'm majoring in History, Sociology and Anthropology. I just like to hear what people think about this.

  1. He went after gypsies, and the handicap... I think the list grew over time.

  2. they r basicly the same thing

  3. If Hitler was anything he was three things:

    1. A good christian

    2. A psychotic

    3. The poster boy for blatant racism.

  4. both, he was racist in general, anti-semitism is a "type" of racist which is being racist towards semistic people (jews, arabs etc), which also falls under his ideas

  5. "Semetic" refers to Hebrews, Arabs, and Aramaics.

Yes, 14 year old brains and 6th grade doesn't teach you that.

  6. He wanted to expand Germans at the expense of whoever got in his way.  He clearly went out of his way to punish Jews but they weren't the only ones he wanted to eliminate.   He would have killed other races if they lived in Germany.   Gypsies aren't European and they were also targeted.

  7. Well, we allknow that Hitler was an anti-semite; right? well, the deffinition of an anti-semite is this: One who discriminates against or who is hostile toward or prejudiced against Jews. And doesn't the word predjudice have almost exactly the same meaning? so basically u asked if the dude likes apples or Malus domestica (which is the sceintific term for apples).

Wether or not he killed all european jews is a very good question!! I had never even thought of that!

  8. Hitler went after Bosnian muslims, gyspsies, jews, and many more. He was not just a racist but more he had a different version of the world in his head, 'the master race' also he may have been a quarter jewish himself.

  9. Pretty much he only took down groups that would have been a threat to his tyrannic reign, such as the Romi (a group more "Aryan" then the germans in a sense that they're actually from North India) which would lead to problems of "racial questioning" by the Germans who Hitler called "Aryans" so therefore it was easier to say that the Romi's where originally "Aryans" yet had been contaminated by mating with inferior beings. However, groups that were helpful and benificial to the n**i's where well rewarded such as the Japanese, the "master race" destined to rule Asia or the Italians..........

  10. Intolerant, stupid, same thing.

  11. Hitler targeted a number of groups. Partly this was based on social Darwinism that was popular during the 1930s. It was a corruption of Darwin's work that believed those "unfit"  should not be allowed to breed. Basically, those in power saw themselves as "fit" and chose the powerless as "unfit."

Jews were the most numerous and by playing on the antisemitism of the time was able to get people to blame their trouble on the Jews. The n**i spectacles, uniforms, torchlight marches and mass meetings all were intended to make people feel proud and be immersed in a system greater then the individual. Those not part of the "master race" became targets for discrimination and anger.

The Jesse Owens handshake story is a fable. The first day Hitler met with, and shook hands with, the German medal winners. The Olympic Committee, told him that he couldn't single out the Germans and would need to shake all the medal winners hands. The next day Hitler stopped shaking anyone's hand.

Europe had (and has)  good deal of antisemitic prejudice. Jews tended to live apart from the rest of the population, had been blamed for the death of Christ, and controlled a good deal of wealth. They made excellent targets and their conficated wealth funded n**i operations.

  12. Hitler was racist, anti-semitic and killer. Hitler is synonymous of violence, dehorns, madness, and mainly of inhumanity. Paradoxicalally it was his ability to read and to include/understand the human condition and to the masses, the one took that it to persuade and to manipulate to, otherwise formidable, town of 80 million German to send itself to conquer to the entire world. And they almost obtain it. By each word in Mein Kampf, 125 lives were lost; by each page, 4,700; by each chapter, more than 1,200,000. Hitler, a failed painter who ended up tyrannizing to the world. If he had only had the value of facing the linen cloth in target and of persisting in his eagerness of being artist; if it had only been possible to face he himself

  13. Race is purely a social phenomenon; it has little biological reality.  But that doesn't diminish its social reality.  It's unfortunately still a part of cross- and inter-cultural dialogue when there is little difference between black and white, Latino and Asian and Middle Eastern.  If we were to make distinctions between people, ethnicity seems to make more sense.  But I'm rambling.  Hitler had some silly ideas about race.  Theosophy, a spiritual movement popular at the end of the late nineteenth century and famous for its flamboyant promulgator Madame Helena Blavatsky, was prominantly featured in his mystical leanings and personal beliefs.  I'm trying my hardest not to sound like a conspiracy theorist here, since those stupid theories feature religion and spiritual belief prominantly in their BS, but Theosophists held that humanity was decended from various races, each part of a different age descending from spirit to Atlanteans to those of the present day.  Some held that Semitic peoples (Jews, Arabs, Berbers, etc.) were an offshoot of the parent Aryan race, and were, thus, inferior; they were the parents of the Abrahamic religions, the religious contentions of which explains Theosophy's targeting of belief systems perceived to be against their spiritualism.  These esoteric beliefs were present really only in the upper ranks of the n**i regime.  Nonetheless, racist and ethnocentrist ideas had been brewing for centuries--and not just in Germany.  You may find it interesting that Hitler's pseudo-scientists produced a heierarch of skull sizes: those descended from Germanic peoples were highest, the Slavs, then Jews, then those of African descent, or something to that order.  Pure c**p.  Pure pseudo-science.  I'm sure if he had the chance and captured African lands, he'd kill people there, too.  However, killing the Jews, Romani (the proper, less culturally-loaded term Gypsy), and Slavs hit closer to home because they peopled Germany and lands supposedly belonging to the "Aryan Nation."  It's weird.

  14. Well he refused to shake Jesse Owens hand after he won a gold medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.  What does that tell you?
