  1. No but gun slinger Clint Eastwood was gov of California :)

  2. No. Are you joking? Or why would you ask such a question? Do you know who you are talking about? Hopalong Cassidy was a fictional character, a western film and early television hero in kids' shows in the 40's and 50's. He was played by an actor named William Boyd (who was never in politics, and was not from Texas in any event.)

  3. Hopalong Dang boy how old are you? and no...Not gov of CALIF major of Carmel Calif

  4. No.

You may be thinking of "Pappy" Lee O'Daniel, who was more or less a comic figure, who was governor until we had the good sense to send him to Washington with the rest of the clowns.

  5. Clarence Mullford 1904 wrote stories

1935 66 "B" movies made of Hopalong Cassidy

1949 TV series began did  not last long in orignal but in syndication was seen up till'66

2005 stories by Louis L'amour "Hopalong Cassidy" still in print.

Trademarked name still exists belongs to the company.  Has been imprinted on mugs, lunch boxes, numerous toys, clothing articles but NEVER ON THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION.

  6. Well, we almost had Kinky Friedman as governor.  Only thing that kept that from happening was the voters.  I don't think Hopalong would have been a very good political name though.
